When last over that way this past March we picked up a mixed case from Glenora. Six of the mix was their 2010 Finger Lakes Riesling. We popped the first of these last night with Turkey Tetrazzini and it was a great match.
The ‘10 is a continuation of a long line of great Rieslings from Glenora. When their winemaker doesn’t add any adjectives to the wine name such as “Dry” you can guess that it will be slightly off dry, and this is the way we like them. Many other FL producers do the same thing. The wine was priced at $14.39 and the alcohol level was 11%.
This one gives you apricots and peaches on the nose and upfront. You get another rush of fruit along with the afore mentioned sweetness on the palate. The finish is lovely. Happily there are five more in the rack!
