Massican Annia NapaVlly WW (54% TocaiFriulano/33% RibollaGialla/13% Chard; 12.4%; 400 cs; Bttld: March'12) 2011: Med.yellow color; rather minerally/stoney/metallic/perfumed talc some celery/floral/earthy quite pretty nose; quite tart steely/metallic.mineral floral/celery/celery seed tangy/austere/grapefruity flavor; very long metallic/stoney/chalky/mineral light floral/celery seed finish; quite a nice food-friendly white; a clean/zesty/minerally bright white. $25.00

Siduri PinotNoir SantaLuciaHighlands (14.5%) 2010: Dark color; very strong black cherry/bing cherry/boysenberry/huge fruit/Pinot quite spicy bit peppery some pencilly/toasty/oak classic Siduri PN nose that speaks strong of ripe SLH Pinot; fairly tart big fruit/black cherry/peppery/bing cherry/PN/plummy slight herbal some pencilly/toasty/oak flavor w/ light tannins;very long lush/ripe/bing cherry/black cherry/PN some pencilly/toasty/oak finish w/ light tannins; a classic Siduri PN at a great price; should improve over the next yr or two; absolutely delicious drinking. $23.00

1. Massican is the label of DanPetroski, who is focused on making Friulian-style wines. This whitte is a pretty classic example of what he strives for, I think.

2. Siduri: This SLH Pinot is part of Adam's single AVA series. These wines are, to my mind, some of the best values around in Calif Pinot. They are always true to their regional origin and at great prices.
