An amusing article in the latest "TheTastingPanel" magazine (one of the most laughable wine publications I receive...filled w/ hot chicks & cool dudes...my kind of peeps, obviously) on "TheGlassTranslated" w/ an interview of MaxRiedel.
It appears that Riedel has started a line of RiedelRestaurant series designed for restaurant usage...obviously cheaper than their regular line....that they will only sell to restaurants...but not to consumers. Rats....I guess I'll have to stick w/ my fine Riedel Skippy PeanutButter jars for now.
I got a good guffaw from his quote: "These significant and essential items are the 'loudspeaker' for the wine, delivering true varietal DNA character and the style of each wine". Hmmmm....why invest in one of those $240,000 gas chromatagraphs
for DNA varietal identity...when you can use a much cheaper (I presume) Riedel glass!!!
