WTN: Friday wines with my parents

1996 Chartogne-Taillet Cuvee Ste. Anne
Delicious. No sense in trying to describe the elements of this, as it was of a piece. Nothing sticking out, and gliding across the palate. In prime form right now.

2001 Ridge Monte Bello
Predictably young, but not unapproachable. Still showing its oak, but not overwhelming the ripe fruit that is not even beginning to morph into anything evolved. Primary but very drinkable.

2001 Sine Qua Non Midnight Oil Syrah
Three for three on delicious bottles. Layers of dark fruit, road tar, spice and meat. Not at all heavy or goopy.

Forgive my ignorance, David. The name sounds French but from what region/appellation does the wine come?

Wine with my parents would be Taylors Lake Country red (with an icecube). Lucky you!

Sounds like a great evening. Hope Dick's feeling well!
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
