Finished up my tax returns, good weekend on the strip, pizza ready to go into the oven...time for something really good:
1. Carlisle Syrah Papa'sBlock/RRV (15.5%; 570 cs) 2010: Very dark/black color; very intense blackberry/boysenberry/Syrah very spicy some rosemary/oregano/garrigue bit dusty light toasty/oak beautiful powerful nose; fairly tart very intense blackberry/bing cherry/Syrah some licorice/pungent bit toasty/oak very/very spicy slightly alcoholic flavor w/ ample tannins; very long very intense blackberry/bing cherry/Syrah/licorice very spicy some garrigue/oregano slightly hot finish w/ big/rich tannins; very primary and huge mouthfilling Syrah fruit but not at all over-the-top/jammy; well-structured and very much needs age. $45.00
