St. David's Bench, Niagara Peninsula
This wine was a lovely surprise. I had been ignorning it for some time, owing to the fact that two previous bottles were pretty poor. I opened this last one, fully expecting to dump it. Just goes to show that yah never know.
Dark purple in the glass.
A very rich nose: pencil lead, spicy, smoky, dark chocolate, cedar, berries.
Medium weight, very cedary, delicate, raspberry, currants, cranberries, cherry, tangy acidity, spicy, black olives, cinnamon.
Mouthatering, earthy, raspberry on the long finish.
With time, the wine turned a bit firm and drying, but was still yummy.
Purchased at $28.95 (Canadian).
