Tried last night w/ my leftover brined chicken breast:
1. TunkalillaVnyd Riesling Eola-Amity Hills/OR (13.0%; Elevation: 180 metres) BrianCroser/Winemaker/Salen 2008: Med.yellow color; strong piney/pineapple/floral/R slight mineral/metallic/spicy attractive nose; quite tart/tangy off-dry (.8%-1.0%?) some floral/pineapple/piney/PineSol/grapefruity brisk/zippy/balanced light mineral/metallic flavor; long bright/zippy/tangy/tart/grapefruity rather piney/pineapple/floral/R light mineral finish; some like a NZ Riesling w/o the bombastic aromatics; some minerality of an AltoAdige R; definitely not a German R; quite a nice zippy R at a very good price, made by an Oz winemaker??; the acidity should carry it out another 10 yrs I'd guess. $18.50 (CB)

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. Normally I pay little heed to OR/WA Riesling, finding them a little on the boring side (think PacificRim) oftentimes. But this was recommended by DarrellCorti in his latest newsletter, so I took a flyer. Not a profound R, but exactly as Darrell described it...a really lovely drink.
