Well not quite, as the Cab. was a Bordeaux blend the Chalk Hill 2007 Estate Red, which was 51% CS, 24% Malbec, 13% Merlot, 11% Petite Verdot and 1% Carmenere. With 15.1 % abv and a very black color, the smell was fabulous with powerful black fruit and a dusty minerality. The flavors were of black raspberries and cassis with smooth integrated tannins (due to 4 hrs. decant time and lots of aeration) and great balance. Consumed from half bottle and at $30 a bit expensive but if I could find this at $20, I'd be buying a case.
2002 Selbach-Oster Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Riesling Kabinett was in a perfect place with tons of peach flavors and a wonderful, non-tart balancing acidity. Color was pale straw and abv was 9%. Consumed with a chicken/pasta casserole and what a great combination that was.
