I had this last autumn and fell in love with it, so when I found four bottles in Olympia, Washington I could not resist buying them. With those still resting in Switzerland, I got an unexpected chance to try the wine again when a friend showed up with yet another bottle, from his own (glacial) cellar: Colour still rather deep. Raspberry, Kona coffee and licorice on the nose. Sweet and chocolatey flavors, with milkchocolatey tannins. Beautifully integrated oak with a generous and sophisticated aftertaste. I wonder if the Laughtons will ever better this one? 97+p.
