WTN: Allegrini Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 2000

by Jay Labrador » Tue Mar 20, 2012 11:19 am

Note from italian dinner at Balducci with Luciano, Bill, Freddie and Lester.

Still quite dark. Great nose with mint, cedar, linement, potpourri. On the palate, plum, raisin, chocolate and prune. The tannins are still a little firm but already soft enough to be enjoyable. Very complex and despite the high alcohol rather easy to drink. Excellent and seems very close to peak.
Three be the things I shall never attain:
Envy, content, and sufficient champagne.

Hi Jay -

Thank you for the great note. Glad to hear that you enjoyed this wine - I had it last year, and also really liked it.
