WTN: An Orange Wine From Spain

This is certainly a love-it-or-hate-it wine, but definitely worth trying if you like Cornelissen, either Courtois, or any of Alice Feiring's writing.

2010 Vinos Ambiz Airén “Orange” Vino de Mesa
Non-DO, unsulfured, natural orange wine from Madrid; bottle number 86 of 200. This is the first orange wine that I have had from Spain.
Cloudy pale yellow-orange color, with a lot of sediment swimming around in the bottle. Delicate nose of citrus peel, earth, hay, and coffee. Medium-bodied, bone dry, well balanced, and elegant, with moderate acidity, and dusty tannins. Quite earthy and mineral, with yellow curry, orange, witbier, floral, saline, and cinnamon flavors. Although I really enjoyed this now, I am not sure that it will improve, but that doesn't really matter when this is quite reasonably priced at $25.
