Part of my 50th birthday present (a six bottle “sampler” from the NY Times “Reserve” Wine Club- Thanks cousin Mike!) – 2010 Axel Pauly Helden Riesling, (Mosel, Germany) Clear/brilliant in appearance. On the nose- bright, clean aromas of apple and pear with hints of floral notes and some minerality and rocks. Good acidity, well balanced structurally, well made wine. Pleasant and lingering aftertaste. (The wine flowed so nicely across the entire palate and complimented the spicy crab cakes beautifully).
Salute
