WTN: Jaffurs Syrah StolpmanVnyd '01...(short/boring)

by TomHill » Wed Mar 07, 2012 11:59 am

Tried this last night w/ my salad:
1. Jaffurs Syrah StolpmanVnyd/SBC (14.8%) 2001: Very dark color w/ very slight bricking; some smokey/toasty/oak/pungent rather licorice/pungent/blackberry/Syrah/spiicy/framboise slight chalky quite fragrant/aromatic nose; soft/rich/lush very smooth/round/velvety/glycerined some spicy/licorice/blackberry/Syrah bit toasty/oak flavor w/ light tannins; very long slight toasty/oak/charred smooth/soft/lush some blackberry/Syrah/licorice/pungent finish w/ very light/smooth tannins; probablly at its peak; no signs of drying out not much developed complexity and fruit fading sliightly but a quite attractive/mature Syrah.
