WTN: Red Wine and Roadkill

by Jim Grow » Tue Mar 06, 2012 9:22 pm

I helped a friend butcher a roadkilled doe recently and got a lot of venison burger, steaks etc. and grilled a round steak this evening. It went splendidly with a 2008 Casaeda Napa Cabernet Sauvignon (second wine of Kathy Culler). The wine was very black with a nice nose and full palate of black cherry, cassis and plum with good somewhat resolved tannins. My only bottle but I have a 2009 I'll probably try soon as they both were about $18 and I'd buy more at that price.

I ask you, how could one resist opening up a post with a header like that?
