WTN: 2010 Baudry Chinon Rosé

2010 Baudry Chinon Rosé
Anotherr wine from last Saturday's tasting event that really stood out for me. The freshness of the fruit (strawberries, raspberries & even a hint of citrus) and the back end minerality were striking, and a table full of pople who rolled their eyes at a rosé were mostly converted (save a couple of guys who couldn't get past the idea of drinking rosé). I'm glad I saved a few bottles over the winter, as this will be a lovely addition to spring meals.

I don't think I've had a better rosé. Still have one bottle remaining, but I'm hoping it won't be too long before Chambers gets the next vintage in. Wine rarely gets more refreshing than this.

White Zin has probably ruined rosé for a generation.

I do not believe that is quite so, quite a few customers are seen browsing over the pinkies where I help out. Mind you, the store does have an excellent selection most of the time!

Kelly, the reputation of rosé was ruined long before the advent of White Zin. Too many insipid pink wines and too few serious ones. That being said, that '10 Baudry rocks and I'm glad that I have a bottle or two awaiting sumertime consumption.
