WTN: Dr. Loosen Riesling Kabinett Ürziger Würzgart 2002

by Bruce Hayes » Sat Feb 25, 2012 9:19 pm

MSR

Bright yellow in the glass.

Very spicy, light petrol, honeyed, green apples on the nose.

Medium weight, honey, very spicy, green apples, lemon, a hint of orange, juicy, good acidity, very rich and intense on a rather delicate frame.

Mouthwatering and green apple on the long finish.

Oh my, one of the better white wines I have had in some time. Glad to know I have a few more kickin' around the cellar!

Purchased at $19.95 (Canadian).

Indeed the 2002s seem to be coming into their own sooner than the 2001s.

Hi Bruce -

Thank you for the interesting note. I have not had anything from Loosen in a while, but their wines are generally very good. As David says, the few 2002s that I have had in the past year were showing relatively well.
