Tried this last night w/ dinner:
1. Drew Viognier ValentiVnyd/MendocinoRidge (12.8%) 2010: Pale gold color; quite aromatic/fragrant strong ripe/pear/Viog/spicy some mineral/chalky very perfumed nose; quite tart/tangy/grapefruity ripe/pear/Viog some mineral/metallic rather spicy/carnations/floral flavor; long tangy/grapefruity/tart ripe/pear/Viog/spicy mineral/chalky/metallic finish; a tight/lean/lithe Viog w/ lots of perfume; could use some age; the lean/tangy character of Vermentino but the perfume of Viog; a tight wine w/o straying into the territory of eviscerated or screechy; probably how they'd make Viognier in the ClareVlly if they could. $30.00
