Frankly, I've never even been impressed with the original Vac-u-vin. A bunch of comparative tasting, back in the day, suggested that the effect is primarily placebo. Now you can waste even more bucks for a digital model!

THe essential problem with its design is that, even if one could remove all the oxygen from the headspace (a questionable premise), there is no way you'll get enough of a vacuum to degas the dissolved oxygen in the wine, a major problem.
