LATimes: Comiskey On StaRitaHills

Nice article in today's LATimes by PatrickComiskey, one of my favorite writers, on wines of restraint from the StaRitaHills:

Lots of familiar names. Emphasis is on being able to make wines at lower alcohols w/ fully ripe grapes.

Don't let the word out. Let those that think that all Central Coast PN taste like Syrah continue to think so, so that prices don't rise any higher. I appreciate those that are making lower alcohol wines from this region but they do not come cheap.

Thanks for that link, Tom. It's good to see Richard Sanford getting his due, as I think that Alma Rosa is making some very good wines. The article also touches on the use of Dijon clones, as I think that the topic of clonal selection in CA is often overlooked. I know that, from among Alma Rosa's cuvees, the Clone 116 Pinot Noir was my clear favorite -- not an accident, I think.
