Question is, is it the mere subject of the thread, or Julia's question "who would drink this?" After all, doesn't Godwin's Law require a comparison to or accusation of association with Hitler?

Seriously though, there are still Nazi sympathizers around. The question is, were these label made as a joke or a tribute?

These wines have been around for almost 20 years. They're from an Italian company called Lunardelli who produce wines labelled with various pictures. Hitler is from their Historical range.

I have their Mussolini label in my Marilyn Merlot and the Naked Grape wine labels book. When the publisher learned they did a Hitler label they wanted that instead but I successfully argued against it.

You see the wines in Italian shops in tourist areas and I understand the Mussolini wines do well in his town of birth.

But I think it is the labels more than the contents that are the reason the wines are purchased.

Hitler Wine, Rogov Cognac...

I've still done them all better. Just think how many great bottles of wine refer to the name of my blog on the label. :D

Pretty tasteless if you ask me. The door is now opened for a "Ted Bundy" Burgundy, or a "Dahmer" Dolcetto.
