2005 Bürgermeister Willi Schweinhardt Langenlonsheimer Rothenberg Riesling Spätlese
Full-bodied, ripe, creamy, well balanced, with racy acidity. Moderately slaty, with notes of orange blossoms, tropical fruits, apricots, flowers, and light petrol. Very good/excellent; an impressive wine from a less heralded producer – based on the two wines that I have had thus far from BWS, they are deserving of more of my attention when they are available.

2010 Dönnhoff Norheimer Kirschheck Riesling Spätlese #7
Floral/lightly herbal/stony nose. Nicely focused, lightly creamy, silky, well balanced, lightly sweet; with lively acidity, and cool, transparent minerality. Shows apricot, cherry, custard, and green apple flavors; along with slate and citrus elements that get just a bit more edgy and pronounced toward the finish. Excellent; not that it’s a surprise or anything.

Thanks Andrew.

I'm not terribly familiar with BWS (useful abbreviation!), having had only 1 bottle ever in my tasting history. I'm surprised by your mention of "racy acidity", as that's pretty much what 2005 lacks for me.

As you say, no shock on the Donnhoff.
