Maybe my little rant belongs elsewhere, but isn't it in bad taste to put his obituary on the Purple Pages? I know his wines are expensive, but I think people deserve to read the obit for free.

Sad news. I raise my glass in honour of a great man that I am happy to once to have met. May his nephew (I think) continue Bepi's work with success. Here is a picture I took of him and his family when they were sorting cherries in May 2007

Very sorry to hear of Bepi's passing; R.I.P. to a real icon of Italian wine. His 1981 Bandito still stands as one of the absolute greatest wines that I have ever had, and his Valpolicella Ca del Merlo transcended the category.
