FWIW, Roger Corder's Wine Diet, my health bible :D , does not claim health benefits from resveratrol for wine drinkers on the grounds that, in order to gain theoretical benefits, enormous quantities would be required (something like >5 litres/day). Corder's claims of health benefits relate mainly to procyanidins.

I'm going to use this for another slap on the back, but I'm living proof that you can lose weight and build up a lot of muscle mass and stamina on a diet of 2-4 bottles of wine a week. So researches be damned!

Hate it when the scientific literature corrects itself this close to home. I can say that there is a lot of other evidence in the field that will probably stand the scrutiny it will now come under due to this episode.

So Alan, this is how the scientific literature fixes itself when someone fixes their data... 8)
