Really impressive, one of the best German Pinots I've encountered. Starts out with a lovely aromatic profile combining black tea, dried herbs, some stemmy/pine needle like elements and fresh red and dark fruits into a wonderful scent, and on the palate it conveys layers of savoury, mineral, herbal and pure red fruited flavours with a sense of real finesse and elegance. There's just a tinge of finishing warmth that betrays its 13.5% alcohol, but the acidity still keeps it very fresh and it's a fantastic wine (and quite a step up from the Christmann Spätburgunder QbA I tried a few nights ago).
