Nice article in Sunday's SFChron:
SFChron:AltoAdigeReds

by WolfangWeber on the red wines of the AltoAdige by WolfgangWeber. New writer to me, but nicely written article. A numer of OliverMcCrum's wines are featured, as well as some quotes from Oliver. I particularly like the Schiava wines, though they're hard to find.
Worth reading.

i guess i don't get schiava - just to light and fruity for me. at a big tasting with the regions producers only 2 even brought it. but there were plenty of lagreins and pinot neros. some of the pn's were pretty good; but the lagreins really stood out for me - distinctive and often classy. curiously, i recently tasted an experimental lagrein grown in michigan. it was really, really good.

Hello,

It was nice to see a reference to my encounter with this region wines in the last summer:

2009 Ignaz Niedrist Berger Gei Lagrein Gries

I was pleased to see this comment:

...and in 2009 they yielded a fresh, elegant and focused Lagrein that should age well.
