This Spanish red wine cost $23.99 from a Raleigh wine shop. 14% alcohol by volume. 100% Tinto Fino grapes (Tempranillo is called Tinto Fino in Ribera del Duero.) Grapes are from estate vineyards between 15 and 25 years old. Twenty-three days maceration. A year in French and American oak barrels. No cold treatments. Imported by Tryon Distributing Company, Charlotte, NC.
Deep dark purple color; opaque. Leggy. Some herbal fragrances and a suggestion of mulberries. Acceptable wine at its price point but not thrilling. Medium body. I paired it with lasagne with meat sauce the first evening and with pork chops with gorgonzola the second evening.
