- 2008 Domaine Marc Roy Gevrey-Chambertin Cuvée Alexandrine - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin (1/7/2012)
This had the nose I'd expect from a 2008 Gevrey-Chambertin; dry-aged beef, dark spices, and earth with an undercurrent of minerals and red fruit. The palate, however, was far more fruited and lush than I had expected with a more vivid fruit profile and the earth toned down a bit. Still very enjoyable, and if the acid was a hair less, would be a dead ringer for a 2009 Gevrey. (90 pts.)
