What should my punishment be?

by Josh » Sat Oct 28, 2006 5:50 pm

Client lunch yesterday. Not much on the wine, we were drinking Peregrine S. Blanc for the meal (sushi spot)

The client payed for lunch (yay!). So I offered to pick up a bottle or two after coffee.

First the Peregrine Pinot Noir which is a nice NZ Pinot for $89 on the menu. I got lost of vanilla.

Well that didn't hit the spot. So to "impress" the client, I ponied up for a $260 bottle of bordeaux.

Which we at least decanted, but then proceeded to basically chug in about 18 minutes! After at least a bottle of wine each.

So I ask the board...I certainly deserve some sort of self punishment for this sin.

What should it be?

Yes, and how many deaths will it take 'til he knows

French firing squads are notoriously ineffective. They keep dropping their guns.

They keep dropping their guns.

But that's only after the Germans turn and run.

If it was half as delicious as the one I had, I can't blame you for chugging it (funny verb, I hadn't heard of it before!). It was so delightfully savoury that it just begged me to take another sip all the time. We didn't manage quite the time that Josh did, but when I shared a bottle with a friend of mine we saw much to our chagrin that we had finished it all in just 45 minutes. That wine was quite a delight.
I don't drink wine because of religious reasons ... only for other reasons.

Thanks!!

I wish it were that easy. This was just a general meet and greet.

Unfortunately, I probably will not even expense this as it will look funny...the partner knows the client paid, so a $400 bill for after dinner drinks may raise an eyebrow.

Or maybe not.
