WTN: Outstanding Selbach-Oster Kabinett Halbtrocken

2004 Selbach-Oster Zeltinger Himmelreich Riesling Kabinett halbtrocken - Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer (1/6/2012)
My last bottle from a case I purchased on release. Why I did not buy 2 cases I have no idea. This is still in the prime of its life, with plenty of citrus and apple fruit, supported by a delicate but firm spine of acidity. There's a floral element that comes out with air, and overall it is not all that developed, 7 years+ from the vintage. Delicious wine that graces the table and refreshes the soul.

Nice way of putting it, David. If you haven't copyrighted it, I'm tempted to plagiarize.

nice note. I don't think I'e had this, but think S-O was very strong in '04- really enjoyed Sonnenuhr Kab and Schlossberg Spat. Have a couple of one star Auslesen, but haven't tried yet

Great note on a great wine. I'm glad I was able to really enjoy this a few months ago (from your cellar/trade in early summer).
