WTN: 2001 Pegau Res.

by Jim Grow » Fri Jan 06, 2012 9:48 pm

I decanted this bottle 3 hrs. prior to dinner and that was probably unnecessary. Color was med. red with obvious bricking at the edges. Nose and palate were of sweet and sour cherries and a definite gamyness that added a lot of interest. Tannins mostly resolved. Gamyness seemed to fade over time and the fruit became more dominant. Lots of sediment. I'll see how the other half is tomorrow.

Lucky this wasn't corked. Or does that only happen to bottles JB touches?
Yes, and how many deaths will it take 'til he knows
That too many people have died?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind
The answer is blowin' in the wind.

I've buried my 2001 Pegau so deep that I hove no idea where it is. (well...I know, but it requires heavy equipment and a younger back...)

That sounds like where any bottle I might want to find gets buried! And the back is getting weaker!

I don't have the 2001 on my drrinking list for the next 5 years.
