Tried w/ dinner the other night:
1. SanSakanaCllrs Mourvedre AltaMesaVnyd/SBC (14.4%; www.SanSakana.com) Bettina/3Fishes/SanFrancisco 2005: Very dark/slight murky color w/ little/no bricking; very strong earthy/dusty/wet pavement somewhat tarry/pungent/plummy/Mourv light toasty/oak quite interesting bit rustic nose; rather tannic/rough/hard earthy/dusty/wet pavement rather plummy/licorice/Mourv rather rough/rustic light toasty/oak interesting flavor; very long some plummy/licorice/pungent/tarry/Mourv light toasty/oak rather dusty/earthy/wet pavement some rought/tannic/hard quite interesting finish; shows the more rustic/sauvage side of Mourv but quite in interesting wine; rather Languedoc-like.

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. SanSakana: This was a "winery" that had a very good run for several yrs, making wines from purchased grapes at CrushPad there in SanFrancisco. BettinaBriz was the principal involved that I knew most well. They made some terrific Syrahs during their brief run. So sad...I thought they were on the right track w/ their wines.
