WTN: Mas De Daumas Gassac 1997

by Bruce Hayes » Sun Jan 01, 2012 12:33 pm

Vin de Pays de l’Hérault Haute Vallée du Gassac

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (80 per cent) and 20 per cent “grands cepages”.

Decanted about 20 minutes before the meal.

Dark red in the glass.

Medium weight, very floral, dusty, cherry, raspberry, black olives, smoky, leather, very smooth and silky, earthy.

A mouthwatering finish.

A great wine, which also wowed our non-wine dinner guests.

This is a good bottle Bruce, and one I used to see, but now seldom do.
