WTN: 2009 Domaine Bernard Baudry Chinon Les Grézeaux

2009 Domaine Bernard Baudry Chinon Les Grézeaux (France, Loire Valley, Touraine, Chinon)
Ah this is delicious right now. There's plenty of bright red fruit, but also a wealth of earthy, spicy tones that make it so interesting to sip. It's never heavy on the palate, but there is a richness to the texture that makes the wine feel bigger than it is. The aromas and flavors keep changing over time, with bits of soy and a hint of mint coming into play then flitting away as if they were never there. Intriguing wine (if you are into that sort of thing) that also happens to be just plain tasty.

Yup. Such a great wine. I'm glad I went long on this.

One was pretty amazing a few months ago (glad I still have 3 left  - thankfully in Horse Ridge, so I won't touch em anytime soon.)

Chaps, I am quite surprised that this wine is drinking so well already. It is a good vintage, I would have thought hold on like the `05?
How does the `09 compare to the `05?

Bob,

This wine has enough stuffing that it's quite enjoyable now. '05 in the Loire was a bit more rough in style.
