Tried this last night w/ leftover ItalianSausage:
1. Nalle Henderlong Zin HenderlongRanch/DryCreekVlly/SonomaCnty (13.9%) 2007: Med.dark color; lovely fragrant/Zinberry/raspberry/Zin/spicy/bit strawberry light pencilly/oak some dusty/old vine very fragrant/perfumed nose; fairly tart/lean some hard/tannic strong bright/Zinberry/Zin/raspberry classic DCV Zin light pencilly/oak some dusty/old vine flavor; very long perfumed/Zinberry/raspberry/Zin/framboise/very spicy light pencilly/oak rather tannic/hard lovely finished; needs 2-5 yrs of age and should go out longer; still pretty primary and a classic/perfect example of DCV Zin at its best. $42.00

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. I have, of course, followed DougNalle's Zins from the very start. They are made in a more restrained style, always have been, that is starting to become in vogue again. Yet way far away from those abominations of the early '80's known as "food wines". The Nalle Zin, along with the DryCreekVnyd Zins, are, to me, the epitome of DryCreekVlly Zin, w/ their intense Zinberry character. This Henderlong was a very structured Zin, much along the lines of many of the Ridge LyttonSprings Zins, but not the complexity and the DraperPerfume the Ridges show. I suspect it has a good many yrs afore it.
