WTN: Short German Riesling note

by Jim Grow » Sat Dec 03, 2011 9:51 pm

While down at deer camp this week-end (no venison for me yet)I opened a 2001 Messer Burrweiler Schlossgarten Riesling Kabinett and it was another recent German pull from my off-site cellar that was in excellent condition. Sweeter than expected and acting more like a Spatlese, there was plenty of apple and a bit of peach. No slate or petrol but very enjoyable. Color was deep straw.

Thanks David for the correction. I thought later that that was wrong.
