I've seen a lot of strange new registrations to this site over the last few days that are clearly not using real names. miys4832, akcek208340 are among them. What's happening and being done to prevent them, before they inflict serious damage here. Should we be concerned with the safety and security here?

Just cleaned up some. Not sure what happened. Will investigate.

As for security - generally the spammers that get through just peddle stuff.
