Tried last night w/ Susan:
1. Carlisle Zin GoldMineRanch/DryCreekVlly (15.2%; Palnted in 1914; + Carignane; 300cs) 2009: Med.dark color; very strong blackberry/Zin/boysenberry slight DCV/raspberry/Zinberry some toasty/smokey/oak rather dusty/old vine rather spicy/peppery nose; fairly tart quite spicy/cinammon dusty/old vine very strong blackberry/Zin/ripe/boysenberry somewhat tannic/hard smokey/oak/toasty flavor; very long blackberry/Zin/boysenberry rather tannic/hard rather dusty/old vine spicy/peppery finish; lots of RRV character but the structure of a DCV Zin; needs some age to start showing much; no obvious alcohol or overripeness; another terrific Carlisle Zin. $35.00
