It is not always the famous, great wines. Sometimes it happens with less known gems ranging in the middle price segment and standing in the shadow of famous brands:
1990 Heitz Napa Cabernet Sauvignon
Tasted from a pristine bottle. Disclosing glorious fruit on the nose. The palate unfolds a perfectly harmonious concentrate of sweet plums and blackberries, refreshing mint, eucalyptus, dark chocolate, black tea, black truffles and salty minerality. What a natural beauty! Now fully mature, I'd drink it up in the next 5 years. My personal rating: 92/100.
Cheers,
Rainer
