WTN: 2009 Lioco Sonoma County Chardonnay (Unoaked)

Lioco is one of my favorite domestic producers for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir (partnership of Matt Licklider, importer and Kevin O'Connor, former wine director at Spago.)

This wine comes with screwcap and is labeled as 14.1% alcohol.

Grapes are hand harvested and sorted; winemaker uses wild yeast during fermentation and wine goes through malolactic fermentation. Wine remained in stainless steel tank on lees for 6 mos. prior to bottling.

Crisp and pure in Chardonnay flavor with some pear notes.
