Here I noted about a really nice Hungarian GrüVe that had the helping hand of the Antinoris. Today I had a taste of another of Bátaapáti's wines. This blend was just as good as the GruVe: B. seems to make some smashing QPR wines! I'll be trying their varietal Kékfrankos soon.
2003 Bátaapáti Estate Talentum - Hungary, Mőcsényi
12,5% 11,30€. A blend of Cabernet (but which of them?) and Kékfrankos. Very dark red. The nose reminds me of a good Beaujolais with its sweet fruit and red berries, but there is also an earthiness and herbaceousness that reminds me of Cab F. The palate is sweetly fruity, structured, balanced and very pleasant and fresh. Though a bit simple, this is a very pleasant cheap wine!
