Florida Jim's Wine

by Lou Kessler » Thu Nov 03, 2011 8:24 pm

Florida Jim has released two Pinots and a sauvignon blanc left on the skins called Isa. We're happy to carry his wines in our store called Manhattan Fine Wines in Manhattan Beach CA. In the 12+ years I've been posting on this board I have never in any way advertised my business. Jim's entrance in the fine wine business has been brought about by his personal love of wine and just plain hard work. If Robin wants to delete this post I will understand and not hold any anger because of it. Just like to see someone so stubborn and hard working make it.

I had the chance to taste through some of Jim's wines when I was in California last year. None of the ones released, but I did try an older (2008) Sauvignon Blanc as well as a couple of vintages of his Syrah (and I wonder when he'll release those). The wines were lovely; elegant, complex and refreshing, and I'm sure he'll have no trouble selling them - they're very, very good, and in a style that's very hard to not enjoy.

My shipment of Jim's wines arrived several days ago. Unfortunately, due to the storm issues in the East, I have not prepared any meals that would go with them. So they will have to wait a few weeks for a test drive.

I am sure they will be full of character - like the guy who made them.

Lou, Robin will have no problem with your post. You're a forum friend and so is Jim, so you do all a favor by letting them know of a place where they can find these limited release wines.

Is Jims Wine available on the east coast (more specifically NJ)? It sounds like a good pinot to try.

Nice try Jim. Do not have big enough pockets to set up an agency business!
