Syncline GrunerVeltliner UnderwoodMtnVnyd/ColombiaGorge (216 cs; 12.8%; www.SynclineWine.com) Lyle/WA 2010: Light gold color; beautiful aromatic/perfumed ripe/mango/pineapple/tropical fruit slight appley/pear slight earthy/stoney/mineral some spicy/peppery lovely nose; soft/rich/lush ripe mango/pineapple/spicy/tropical fruit slight mineral/earthy bit peppery flavor; very long tropical fruit/mango/pineapple light spicy/mineral/stoney slight peppery finish; speakks strongly of WashState aromatic white and whispers of GruVee; maybe a bit soft but a lovely wine for a more than fair pprice. $27.00 (BWM)

Puig-Parahy Syrah VdP: CotesCatalanes/Rousillon (13.5%) Georges Puig/Passa 2005: Very dark color w/ some browning; some toasty/oak/pencilly very slight boysenberry/blackberry/Syrah rather earthy/dusty/graphite rather barnyardy/horsecollar/unclean nose; very hard/tannic/earthy slight blackberry/Syrah light pencilly/toasty/oak very rustic/rough/coarse some unclean/bretty flavor; med.short hard/tannic/earthy/dusty rustic/rough/coarse somewhat unclean/bretty/barnyardy very light boysenberry/plummy/Syrah finish; a very rough/rustic/coarse/unclean red that epitomizes everything that is right or wrong w/ Rousillon reds; no bargin at $12.00 (LM)
