WTN: 2005 Conn Valley Anthology

by Jim Grow » Sun Oct 30, 2011 9:47 am

My only bottle of this and a very nice wine it was with pot roast. I decanted this wine for 3 hrs. Very dark purple/black, the nose followed the palate of sweet and sour cherry with the sweet cherry dominating. Tannins were mostly resolved as my wife thought it very smooth and she is tannin-averse. The wine further opened up during our hour supper. Little complexity but the excellent balance seemed to indicate that there were years ahead of this wine and secondary notes many show themselves. My first taste of their upper label Bordeaux blend. Abv of %14.5 and blend of 76% C.S.--10% Merlot--8% Malbec--4% Petite Verdot--
2% Cab. Franc. May get more to lay down.

This is good to read, Jim. Thank you for posting. I think I have three bottles of this wine.
