2009 Bergdolt St. Lamprecht Spätburgunder Blanc de Noir Extra Brut Sekt b.A. Pfalz –Germany 13% alc.
Typing such a long name is bound to make a man thirsty. A good thing that the solution is near at hand. As to be expected, this is more flowery and more feminine than the Bergdolt Weißburgunder Sekt,

and shows richer red fruits of cherry and strawberry, though not at all sweet (Extra Brut in Germany follows the same guidelines as in Champagne and denotes 6 grams sugar per litre or less.) While admittedly it doesn’t have the same depth or mineral as the Weissburgunder, it is a very nice wine and fans of Pinot Noir-dominated Champagne might even prefer this. It is certainly delicious. More often than not, I like my Champagne to be Chardonnay and greatly appreciate the other.
Cheers,
