2010 Coudert Fleurie Clos de la Roilette Cuvée Tardive
Significantly less fruity than the 2009 - to the point of hardness. There's quite a lot of backbone to the wine, but the fruit is in hiding. Finishes rather dry and austere. Let's hope it's already closed, as it does not provide much pleasure right now.

Huh, that's a surprising note - had it recently, found it very enjoyable and brightly fruited - certainly nowhere near austere. Dunno what happened...

Over on Disorder (and I think Berserkers, but some of the same folks anyway) people have been talking about this closing up for a while now.

I had my first bottle in September so I can't speak to what fruit/exuberance was there earlier but my most recent bottle (this weekend) certainly didn't inspire me to open any more any time soon. With enough air you can see the layers and the textural possibilities, but there are a lot of other easier ways for me to have wine fun.

Well, I'm glad all my bottles are locked away in storage.

Meanwhile, the regular Roilette is drinking beautifully right now (based off a bottle a couple of weeks ago).

I've had two Tardives over the past week...the first was as Salil described it (and i thought it was as good a bottle of Beaujolais I've ever had) and the second was as David described it.
