Any experience with Gonet's Champagne Baron de Challet?

I picked up a Champagne (Pierre Gonet, Baron de Challet) from Sam's today. This is a MA which indicates that it is a label owned by someone else (probably Sam's). The price ($13) seems hard to believe, but hopefully this is some spillover from the last few vintages that they had trouble selling. Will open soon, but wondered if anyone had experience with this Champagne? I am afraid that the old adage "if it sounds too good to be true, ...." but we will see. I will report back.

I also saw this at Sam's and have been meaning to pick up a bottle. But, I found some reviews online, and it sounds like, while it might be worth the $13, don't expect much. Scores online were in the low 80s.

After opening and drinking (over 2 nights) w/smoked salmon and crab cakes. This was better than most alternative sparklers, though IMO outclassed by labeled Champagne and quite a few California wines. But @$13 it is a tempting buy. Not a bad value, and I will buy again.
