WTN: Alban Reva Syrah '01...(short/boring)

Cracked this last night w/ my pizza:
1. AlbanVnyds Syrah Reva AlbanEstate/EdnaVlly (15.6%) 2001: Very dark purple/black color w/ no bricking; some toasty/charred/burnt/oak fairly intense blackberry/boysenberry/Syrah bit smokey/pungent/tarry/licorice slight volatile/alcoholic nose; very tart/acid some burnt/charred/oak intense blackberry/licorice/boysenberry/Syrah bit tarry/pungent bit alcoholic flavor w/ some sharp/bitey tannins; very long charred/burnt/oak/pungent strong blackberry/licorice/Syrah slight tarry/pungent very tart finish w/ some tannins; pretty classic Alban Syrah on the nose; shows a bit of alcoholic heat but just that; rather screechy acidity and some sharp/bitey tannins on the palate are distracting; may never come together to be a pleasure to drink.
