October 7, 2011 – Campanian Wines from Marisa Cuomo and Terredora di Paolo – Vintages, Belmont, MA
This was a good tasting of two of my favorite Campanian producers. I have had several other wines from both in the past, and they have yet to disappoint me.
Furore and Ravello are Marisa Cuomo makes both red and white wines from both Furore and Ravello, two communes whose names can be appended to the Costa d’Amalfi DOC designation. All of her wines are elegant and very reflective of their terroir.
Terredora di Paolo is probably better known in the American market than Cuomo is. As some others will already know, this estate broke away from the eponymous Mastroberardino winery some time ago. Nowadays, Terredora owns many of the best of the original Mastroberardino vineyards.
