WTN: Dinner with friends (Champagne, Pouilly-Fuisse)

2008 J. A. Ferret Pouilly-Fuissé Tournant de Pouilly - Hors classe - France, Burgundy, Mâconnais, Pouilly-Fuissé (10/2/2011)
Served with a grilled herb/lemon chicken, the pairing brought out the minerality in this wine, pushing its moderate oak into the background. There's lots of tart citrus fruit here as well, making it a fabulous pairing with the food.

N.V. L. Aubry Fils Champagne Brut - France, Champagne (10/2/2011)
Red fruit dominated, and showing quite yeasty (recent disgorgement), this needs some time ot settle down. It's exuberant and fun right now though, if not a civilized accompaniment to dinner. Give it time (at least recent disgorgements).
