2002 Dr. H. Tanisch Bernkasteler Badstube Riesling Kabinett: hints of gold colour in this now and a lightly petrol nose. Good mouth feel with up fron acidity, decently thick mouth feel and long clean finish. Good, but not great.
2002 Black Hills Nota Bene - this often sought after meritage Bordeaux blend (primarily cab sauv) blend from one of BC's best wineries is available only by waiting list. In my experience it needs a few years to develop and this was the first bottle of this vintage I have opened. Glad I waited! It showed a black wine with blackberry and currant notes in the nose, and blackberry on palate, sweet and long with soft tannin, the wine is excellent now but may improve a little further with age and it will last several more years. Very, Very good bottle!
